Huge congratulations to our Y11 students!

The hard work pays off!

Our year 11 students have been visiting school to collect their GCSE results this morning:

  • There were some truly outstanding performances by our students in their GCSE examinations. As a result, the performance of the school has seen significant increases across the board from last year. There has been particularly strong performance by students in meeting the challenge and attaining the higher grades.
  • The percentage of students achieving a ‘strong pass’ (Grade 5 or better) in both English and Maths is the best ever.
  • The percentage of students achieving a ‘standard pass’ (grade 4 or better) in both English and Maths is the best ever.
  • The number of grade 8s and 9s is the best ever with 57 grade 9s and 85 grade 8s across all GCSE subjects.
  • The percentage of students achieving a ‘strong pass’ in the Ebacc qualification is the best ever.
  • The percentage of students achieving a ‘standard pass’ in the Ebacc qualification is the best ever.

Mr Yates is “very proud of the whole year group who worked incredibly hard throughout their time at Buxton Community School. The commitment from them as students and support for them from their teachers can be seen in the amazing levels of achievement for the whole year group and in some astonishing individual performances. We are equally pleased with the results of every student who can now go to college, start an apprenticeship or go in to a job. The majority of our year 11 students are staying with us and we are really looking forward to seeing how well they do as part of our Sixth Form”
