Update from Mr Yates - 10.03.2021
Please see below an important update from Mr Yates that has been emailed out to parents.
Dear Parent/Carer
The testing is progressing really well and we expect to have completed all students by the end of today. All students will therefore return to face to face teaching tomorrow (Thursday 11th March.)
Just a couple of reminders:
This week is a school Week 2 – please ask your child to check in their planners which lessons they have Thursday and Friday week 2.
Face Coverings
It is essential that students bring with them and wear a robust face covering. As you are aware, there is a clear expectation that all students, with the exception of those with who are legitimately exempt, will be wearing face coverings in classes, corridors and in other communal spaces.
Uniform and equipment
Students must be in full uniform from Thursday. Please also make sure your child brings their winter/waterproof coat as they will be spending time outside at breaks and lunch.
As before this lockdown, if your child has PE on their timetable, they come into school in PE kit for the whole day to avoid needing to get changed. They will be required to wear their school PE kit, but they will need additional clothing such as joggers or a sweatshirt to stay warm and comfortable for the rest of the day - these should be from the school PE kit if they have them, but if not they must be appropriate to wear to school. They should also have appropriate footwear for PE days too.
It will also be really important that your child has their own basic equipment for in the classroom to avoid sharing kit. This should include as a minimum; a pen, a pencil a ruler and a small set of coloured pencils. They will also need their own calculator. Please make sure they have this with them for the start of term.
Please remind your child that the country is still in lockdown. It is imperative that we all observe social distancing rules, including going to and from school. Please download below the leaflet from DCC regarding buses and other public transport.
Obviously the ‘bubble’ system which we were operating when the children were last in school, will still be in operation. As a reminder, please see below entry and exit points for each year group. Students who arrive by public transport should still enter school through their dedicated entrance.
